Ben Wood:

Born into a musical family, guitarist and educator Ben Wood first became interested in the guitar at the age of 10.
A year later he was clamoring for a guitar of his own after borrowing guitars from older family members.
During High school Ben studied music in school and took lessons from famous musicians in the DC area
such as Charlie Byrd and Ketter Betts. Ben later attended school at the University North Carolina
at Greensboro studying with Mark Mazzatenta, John Salmon and Craig Whittaker.
During this time he took master classes with Ricardo Cobo, Frank Vignola, Marvin Stamm,
Russell Malone, Jack Wilkins, and many more. Ben also had opportunities to play in Otis Reem,
Hot club of North Carolina and work with Dr. Eugene Chadborne and the Imperial Palms Orchestra.
After earning a degree in Music Performance with a Jazz Studies concentration, Ben then attended
Berklee College of Music in Boston. During this time he studied with Charles Chapman and
Gerry Bedioun among others. Also during this time he played a little in and around NY with bands
in the avant garde jazz scene. Ben's current musical focus is Gypsy swing, and over the last few years
he studied with Stephane Wrembel and has played with some of the masters in that style including
Ritary Ganguinetti, Dorado Schmitt, Alphonso Ponticelli, and Howard Alden and well as
